Certified Explorer

 

BENEFIT OF THE ACADEMY


Upon completion of the Explorer Academy, the Certified Explorer will have obtained the basic manipulative skills, techniques and terminology to participate on Ride A Longs with in service Engine and Truck companies. Participate with on duty crews on certain drills and assist in non vital roles on incidents. Certified Explorers also take on leadership roles in the post and assist with instruction in the up coming academies.

  1. ACADEMY PREREQUISITES

  2. for Explorers


  4. • 1 year Post program completion

  5. • Attend 9 Post meetings within 6 months

  6. • Attend 3 Post activity events last 6 months

  7. • 18 - 20 years of age at the first day of the academy

  8. • Pass Post level midterm and final exam with 70% or better

  9. •Complete Activity / Skills Record Card

  10. •CPAT completion within a year

  11. •EMT Course Completion

  12. • Pass Pre-Academy interview & selection process
